Terms of Service
1. About these terms
These terms apply to all waste removal services provided by The Junk Squad ("the Company"). By requesting a quote or booking a collection you agree to be bound by these terms in full. Contact details: info@thejunksquad.co.uk, 07398 965151.
2. Quotations & pricing
All quotations are fixed and inclusive of labour, fuel, and licensed disposal unless stated otherwise in writing. Quotations are based on the description and photographs provided. On arrival, if the actual volume or contents differ materially from what was described, the crew will agree a revised price with you before any work begins — nothing is removed without your explicit agreement.
3. Booking & payment
Bookings are confirmed once a date and window is agreed. A deposit may be required for large or specialist jobs and is non-refundable if cancelled within 24 hours of the agreed slot. Balance is due on completion of the work and before the crew leaves site. Accepted payment methods: card on arrival, BACS transfer, or cash on completion with a signed receipt.
4. Cancellations & rescheduling
Cancellations made 24 hours or more before the agreed collection window are free of charge. Cancellations within 24 hours may be charged at up to 50% of the quoted price. Rescheduling is free of charge provided 24 hours notice is given and is subject to crew availability.
5. What we cannot take
We cannot accept hazardous or controlled waste including — but not limited to — asbestos, chemicals, solvents, paints (except in tins fully solidified with cat litter or paint hardener), medical waste, clinical waste, radioactive material, or unprocessed food waste. We will not accept pressurised containers or fire extinguishers. Any hazardous items discovered on site will be set aside and not loaded; an alternative licensed specialist can be referred on request.
6. Responsibility & access
It is your responsibility to ensure that the crew has safe access to the items to be removed and that any parking suspensions or access permits required for your property are in place. The Company takes no responsibility for damage caused by concealed or hidden fixings when dismantling or removing items. Public liability insurance of up to £5,000,000 is in place for every job.
7. Waste disposal & compliance
All waste is disposed of via Environment Agency-licensed transfer stations. A digital Waste Transfer Note (WTN) will be issued to your email on completion of every job. You are legally required to retain a copy for a minimum of 2 years. We do not and will not carry out fly-tipping under any circumstances.
8. Complaints
Any complaints must be raised within 48 hours of the work being completed by emailing info@thejunksquad.co.uk. We aim to acknowledge every complaint within one working day and provide a full resolution response within five working days.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales and any dispute will be dealt with exclusively by the courts of England and Wales.
