Hoarding is a recognised condition, not a mess, and it is usually the family or the landlord who ends up arranging the clearance. That brings two pressures at once: the practical job, and the feelings of the person whose home it is.
We treat it as both. Nothing about a clearance from us is commented on, itemised for anyone else, or discussed with neighbours. We arrive in unmarked vans, we do not stack anything on the street, and we leave the property secure.
How we normally structure the work:
- A short, private call first to understand the layout, access and what must not be touched.
- A phased plan where the first visit only clears a route and a room, so the household can see progress without being overwhelmed.
- Identified items set aside untouched: documents, photographs, anything valuable or sentimental, agreed in advance.
- A single point of contact for the family, not a rotating crew.
The reason we phase it is not commercial. A clearance of a packed four-bedroom house in one hit can be genuinely distressing for the person living there. Two or three shorter visits almost always ends better.
We handle these as house clearance in Fulham and house clearance in Battersea, and where a property is being made safe before support services step in, we run the load through waste clearance in Streatham.
If you are a family member or a landlord trying to work out where to start, call us and describe it as it is. We have seen it before and we will tell you honestly how long it takes.
